Human Trafficking Awareness Day

  • Are you aware that the most common form of human trafficking globally (79%) is sexual exploitation. (unodc.org)

  • Our U.S. national hotline received 32,309 calls or texts in 2024 with over 8,000 from victims/survivors. (Polaris Project)

  • Human trafficking is present in every zip code.

  • Today there are at least 20,000 slaves under the age of 18 in the United States. According to the Department of Justice, the average age of these children are 13 years old. 80% of these children are girls and 80% of those girls are sex slaves. (togetherfreedom.org)

  • Support local safe houses.

  • Sign up for seminars and classes to better understand human trafficking, how to spot it, and how to respond to it.

  • Report suspicious activity to hotlines and authorities.

  • Learn the dangers online and implement safety for your youth.

  • Support those fighting on the front lines.

  • Contact political figures to push for more funding to educate law enforcement and first responders.

  • Be a voice for the voiceless.

  • And PRAY!!!!!!!

Genesis 18:20-21

“Then the Lord said, ‘The outcry against Sodom & Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.’”

It was because of the cries to God that He came down to earth to stop the horrible evil of Sodom and Gomorrah. We can bury our heads in the sand and throw our hands up in the air declaring it too far gone, but I would imagine those being hurt in Sodom and Gomorrah felt similarly. Staying silent about it, even in our prayers will not help anyone.

Cry out to God on behalf of the enslaved. Pray often for God to rescue those in chains. To set them free, to heal them, and to stop the evil of traffickers and those participating in this evil.

Praying is not the least you can do. It’s the MOST can do.

Join me in praying for the evil of human trafficking out of our cities, our states, our nation, and our world.

Lord, may our outcry against evil be loud enough and often enough that You come down Yourself to stop it by Your mighty Hand, in Jesus name. Hear our cry, O Lord. Equip us to fight. Open our eyes. Place our feet on a path to be a voice for the voiceless. And, hear our cries to stop this evil from happening to so many. May all the glory and praise be to You forever & ever. In Jesus name, Amen.
